Joy = A Good book & a Great project

While out and about on a shopping excursion, I found a gem of a book at the store, Tuesday Morning, (for about 6 bucks),  Woo Hoo, score!
The saying ‘When the student is ready the teacher will appear’ certainly rings true for me as I venture further into the wonderful world of crochet.
I’d been thinking about how to merge the two crafts Crochet & Knitting into one of my projects, and voila, here in this beautiful little book Knitting loves Crochet is my answer and teacher.

As I flipped thru the pages, I was stopped in my tracks by page 145, showing this beautiful afghan, in a lovely granny square pattern, with what?  Oh feast to my brown eyes, a lacy knitted border…  I’m in love!

I bought this beautiful Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece yarn on-line at Webs in the colors Provincial Rose, Tea Rose, Cotton Ball and Rue (Robins egg blue?).

When the package arrived, only the three colors shown here were in the box.
I’m awaiting the backordered color, but I couldn’t wait another minute to get started.

(To be continued…)

  1. What a great pattern. I love it! I'm not a big fan of crochet, but have done crochet edges on knit afghans, but I'm really intrigued by the crocheted grannies with lacy knit edging.
