Kusha kusha Komplete

This scarf, the scarf that I was so sure I could complete in record speed, took forever and a day to finish.  Five months = One Scarf, Why?  Well I’ve had plenty of time to think about this question while I was in the process of knitting Kusha kusha.  The biggest problem was that I wasn’t able to stay with it for any length of time.  I’d knit four to six rows and then put it back down.  I’d get board with the repetition of stockinette or I’d get frustrated with holding two strands of yarn together and having one fall off and then having to rip back and fix the error.  I’m happy with the end results, and I think it was worth my ‘staying with it no matter what attitude’ but I don’t see me committing to making another one.

Impromptu Knit

Thursday I received an unexpected and quite welcomed e-mail from my one of my nieces' asking me if I could whip up a pair of baby booties for an expecting friend of hers.  Hmm, sure, I thought.  So I started flipping thru my way too large library of knitting books looking for a pattern I'd like to use.  Well, I thought I found the perfect one on Friday and I started in on bootie #1.  Well, after ripping it apart not once, but twice, as I didn't like the way it was turning out, the way I was knitting, oh I don't know I just thought it was ugly.  So early Saturday morning, I went thru my 3-ring binder of patterns from knitting class's I've taken over the years and I found the pattern that I thought I could 'whip' up.  So by Saturday evening I have these to send her.  I'm happy with the results, well as happy as a knitter ever is, as I can see flaws where no one else can, or no one else would dare point out!

Lucky Me!

I was lucky enough to win this adorable little birds nest from Vicki at her blog 2bagsfull Her blog is really beautiful and fun to visit, check it out.

The texture of this lovely little nest is very soft and the colors are so vibrant.  What little birdie wouldn’t want to call it home? I absolutely love it!  Thank you Vicki.
You can check out her etsy shop DreamChallenge to see more photographs and maybe pick one out for yourself!

My sweet Valentine

I really like this holiday.  I mean, I really like it.  I don’t know if it’s because of the bright colors or the sentiment or the anticipation of a sweet little something like chocolate!  I do love pink, I do love amore, and oh yes, I do love dark chocolate.  So in a nutshell, it is the perfect holiday.  I purchased this cute little necklace

from Lisa Leonard's shop and I’m so pleased with the chain length and the shape of the heart.

Have a great ♥ day everyone!

Crochet

This is new for me. The world of Crochet.  My passion as a knitter has kept me from exploring the world of Crochet.  I’m told myself that I'm just too busy to learn it.  But then, I discovered photographs of granny squares on flickr and I was stunned by the beauty, texture and colors!
And a big Thank goodness for youtube!  It is possible to learn so many things by watching video’s that generous people have posted.  Such an amazing tool.

I'm planning on gifting these little treasures.  Since its raining again, I think I'll go curl up on the sofa and pull out some yarn and hook for another round of this enjoyable craft.

Friendship

I spent the most wonderful day with my girlfriends this past weekend.  Since we were celebrating a birthday, we chose to go up to the San Clemente pier for lunch.  The Fisherman restaurant is a favorite lunch spot for many and we all enjoyed our food and time together. It was a glorious day and sitting out on the pier watching the waves wash ashore, the birds fly by and the people strolling along was wonderful.  Conversation with girlfriends is the best. We laughed, giggled and were downright silly!  Yes it is possible at any age!  After lunch we walked up thru the main street and did some shopping.
It was a thrill to see all the color in the windows.  Yes, spring is on its way, and I for one couldn't be happier. I came home full.  Full of joy, full of contentment and full of love.

Let it rain

We have had another round of rain, short round this time, but rain is rain!
It was great to go out into the yard this morning and see how green everything is.
Well, so far so good with my 'to-do' list.  Why is it that once I make a list, it leads to the necessity of making yet another list? I ponder.  Well, if list making is what will help me with scheduling myself into my day, then so be it!
