I’ve had this
free pattern by designer, Katharina Nopp, in my ravelry
que for quite some time. It wasn’t untill I visited the
Yarn Harlot’s blog and read about the
Wurm she had made for
her daughter, that I remembered I want to make one of my own. I don’t know if it is the way she photographed it or the
lovely yarn she used that spurred the inspiration to put yarn to needle, but I have
to tell ya it is one quick and satisfying knit. The folded over brim is what makes it especially warm. I made mine with Madelinetosh sport, in
the colorway Georgia O'Keefe, on a size 6 - 16" circular needle.
I can even wear it right now as it's chilly enough here in Sunny So. Cal, gotta love it!

| Yep, still in love with Madelinetosh yarns... |
Great hat! It looks squooshy, cozy and warm. And, the the colors in that yarn are so pretty! After receiving the hat you made, I'm in love with Madeline Tosh too (I think I saw that's what you made it with). Do you get it at Yarning for Ewe? I pop in there from time to time as I'm in that area pretty often. Hubby works very close by. The only Madeline Tosh I've used so far is lace weight. It was gorgeous. I found it at a yarn shop in Santa Monica.
ReplyDeleteOH, YES, I will want to make this hat, too. It is just lovely and I love working in the round... Thanks so much for posting. I will have to find the yarn. Hugs from Alaska (soon to visit Desert Hot Springs for 12 days)... leaving today. Karen
ReplyDeleteGorgeous hat!! I am totally going to have to make one myself ;)
ReplyDeleteLovely pattern. I think this hat would suit a lot of people much more than the simple beanie.
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous Karen!I can only do simple knitted things like scarves...I need to learn some new things!!
ReplyDeleteOoo, that is a pretty yarn!
