After completing my Crochet iphone cozy, and making a couple more for friends, I decided I wanted to create a Knitted one. I came up with this little pattern that is inspired by the dishcloths I’d been working up the past few weeks. (see earlier post) I've written up a tutorial if you’d like to make one too.
What you’ll need:
Any worsted weight yarn
Size 4 or 5 knitting needles
Size E crochet hook
Tapestry Needle
I used cotton stria (50g/116yd worsted) and size 4 needles. Go ahead, bust some stash.
Body;
Using 1st color of your choice, loosely cast on 24 stitches (you may need to adjust for your phone)
WS; Row 1 Knit
Row 2 Purl
Row 3 Knit, cut about a 6” tail
Change Color
*RS: Row 1 Knit
Row 2 Knit
Row 3 Purl
Row 4 Knit, cut a 6” tail*
Change Color and repeat the group of 4-rows for (8 more color changes)
Cast off loosely.
With right side facing and the color of your choice, *Slip stitch into first stitch of the cast off edge, (single crochet, chain 1, single crochet) into the next stitch, repeat from * across. Fasten off last stitch.
Fold piece in half with right sides together. Whip-stitch bottom and sides using matching colored tails as you move up the side (3-4 stitches per color). Tie off each set of color tails into a knot and snip to approx. ½” from knot. Turn right side out to complete. Add crochet flower if you wish and Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteGreat colours and I love the flower detail!
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower also and I crochet but I am really envious of clever knitters. I must admit that I have difficulty following a knitting pattern buy i may give this one a go as it looks fairly simple. Love your work by the way.. :))
