Lovin Loopy Roses

While I was busy with crochet hook in hand making steady progress on my Granny Stripe blanket, I wondered how this colorful 'Special dk' yarn by Stylecraft would look made up as a Loopy Rose.  So I got out my Sarah London pattern, G hook and chose 9 colors from the yarn basket and put it to the test.  I have to say; I’m pleased with the results, as the flower is fluffier than the previous one that I had made using cotton yarn.  I’m convinced that wool is the way to go with this pattern as I really like the look of these squishy, plump rose pedals. (Is this a weird conversation or what?)  I know my hubby would give me the what are you talking about look, roll his eyes and then leave the room at a rather quick pace if I tried to explain this to him. Luckily I’ve got this nice blog space to discuss such things!

  1. I gave my sister a big box of the Stylecraft wool, I have to say, when I was teaching her to crochet I really enjoyed working with it too. Have to finishe a few UFO's before I can go and treat myself to a selection. You blanket looks really nice.

  5. My grandma used a similar pattern for quilts and pot holders. I have some of each in my collection, some of my treasured reminders of her.
