Visit

Such a lovely weekend.  Sunny and warm. My sister who lives in Northern Cal. Came down for a visit.  She couldn’t believe how much warmer it was here in So Cal.  At least 10 degrees warmer.  It may not seem like much, but it really is.  She arrived Saturday evening and after picking her up at the airport and heading up the highway we looked into the western sky and saw one of the most spectacular sunsets ever. The sky was ablaze with pink and gold puffy clouds.   I told her it was just for her arrival! We stopped for dinner then came home to hang out and catch up on each others lives.

She had gotten a new camera for her birthday Nikon D40 (same as mine) and she brought it with her so we could go out and take some pictures.  She was anxious for me to teach her some of what I had learned since I had gotten mine.

So on Sunday morning, armed with our cameras we set out to the beach for a photo shoot.  I had recently made a knitted cowl that I wanted to photograph and having her here seemed like the perfect time to take advantage of having a model.
Well, we were all set up to shoot.  She pulled out her camera and realized that she had left her battery at home in No. Cal. on the charger.  No problem, we’ll just use my camera. I started shooting pictures, and after shooting  but a few,  the light came on to tell me my memory card was full. (UGGH!)  So much for our photography session.

We headed over to Ki’s in Cadiff for breakfast.   We sat on the balcony and watched the ocean work its magic.  The surf was up and the waves were foamy and splashing along the shore in perfect harmony.  We then spent the afternoon looking for treasure at our favorite store; Anthropologie.  We stopped and got her a battery so she could take some pictures the next day.

The next day was once again just as beautiful.  We headed to the beach early for a run and to enjoy the smell of salt air.  I was so glad we got to spend another day together before she had to head back home.  There is nothing like time with a sister.

I’m so lucky to have three amazing sisters.  Time with each and every one of them is precious.

  1. I love that picture of Aunt Didi's profile. It sounds like you guys had fun while she was down there. Hopefully it will be my turn soon.

Thanks for reading and always commenting on my blog-- sorry I had yet another hiatus. The not-always-posting-from-a-typewriter thing should help that :)

    Love you!
